【校级学术报告】ISOMETRY AND PERTURBED ISOMETRY ON BANACH SPACES

Abstract:
Suppose that X and Y are Banach spaces. A mapping f from X to Y is said to be an isometry provided that preserves the distances of any pair of points in X. Because of its profundity in theory and universality in application, the study of isometry and its generalizations of Banach spaces has continued for over 90 years. In this talk, will give a historical overview of this research area, and mainly focus on the progress in the last two decades, including some contributions of the FA group at Xiamen University.
About the speaker:
程立新教授，博士，厦门大学陈景润特聘教授。专业方向：泛函分析、 凸分析、Banach空间几何、非线性几何。2002年入选教育部跨世纪人才培养计划。发表学术论文逾100篇。主持包括国家自然科学基金重点项目和教育部主要科研项目在内的国家基金项目12项。指导博士生33人，硕士生66人，博士后3人。曾到美国西雅图华盛顿大学数学系等十七个国家和地区三十多所高校和科研机构科研合作和学术访问。二十多次被邀请作国际学术会议和全国性学术会议的大会报告，包括中国数学会学术年会特邀报告，华人数学家大会45分钟报告（两次），国际非线性分析和第十九届全国非线性泛函分析会议特邀报告，（作为Plenary speaker）第五节国际泛函分析空间理论会议特邀报告，国际非线性分析方法会议特邀报告等。
